To the people I've trapped inside this poem, I apologize but I need you here between the lines of my life. Laura L. Hansen
April, National Poetry Month, seems to have been focused on Haiku this year, at least in my life and readings. I like small compact poems, but have never quite mastered haiku. It doesn’t fit my natural rhythm is my excuse. Nonetheless, I have been practicing and reading Haiku and other short forms this month - Haiku, Tanzaka, Haibun, Tanka, Cherika, Cinquain, Acrostic. The untitled poem above, if it is a poem, seems to have come from the realm of focused moments quickly captured.
Enjoy. Ponder. Have a great day.
Such a view! I see people inside your poem. I wonder who I trap or catch in mine.
Sometimes long poems wander like a river. They might sound nice. Short poems don't get too unnecessary. Every word matters.
I like what you did. :)
